ITEA Interim Executive Director Announced
Rusty Roberts, ITEA President, today announced the appointment of an interim executive director to take over from Lori Tremmel Freeman who is exiting next month after 4 years to continue her career at the National Associationof County and City Health Officials.
Gary L. Bridgewater of Fairfax, Virginia will assume the interim position effective January 4, 2010. Mr. Bridgewater is currently the President and CEO of MBA-VETS of Fairfax, Virginia and has been a Past ITEA President and long-standing member of the organization. He has a long association with the test and evaluation community. The air defense battalion he commanded provided the baseline unit for the DIVAD gun operational tests and upon assignment to the Washington, D.C. area, served as the Chief, Counterair Division, U.S. Army Operational Test and Evaluation Command (now ATEC). His follow-on assignment continued his test and evaluation focus when he was tapped to be the staff lead for Army programs in the early days of the Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation, Office of the Secretary of Defense. Following his retirement from the military, Mr. Bridgewater continued to work primarily in the test and evaluation environment as a senior analyst and program manager with several test and evaluation related companies to include SAIC, TRW, and Northrop-Grumman.
“The leadership is confident that Mr. Bridgewater, along with ITEA’s very professional and experienced staff, will continue to do an excellent job managing the general operations of the organization,” President Roberts said. “We’re fortunate to have someone with Gary’s expertise, knowledge of ITEA, and history with the organization to lead ITEA during this important transition time.”
President Roberts noted the ITEA Board is actively recruiting for a full-time replacement for Freeman. Ms. Stephanie Clewer, Vice President, ITEA Board of Directors, is chairing a Search Committee, and persons interested in information regarding the position should visit ITEA CareerConnections.
