Improving Acquisition Outcomes in a
Resource-Constrained Global Environment

November 12-15, 2013 ~ Crystal City, Virginia

Jointly Hosted by the ITEA George Washington,
Hampton Roads, and Francis Scott Key Chapters.

Program Description

Make your plans TODAY to join us for the 30th Annual International Test and Evaluation Symposium—the T&E community’s premier event!

This year’s Symposium has been specifically designed to provide you ample opportunities to hear from and engage your colleagues, T&E visionaries, and the industry’s leaders. With over 135 speakers, 9 technical tracks, 12 pre-Symposium tutorials, over 50 exhibitors, and hundreds of attendees, you will find the answers to your questions and solutions for your problems—all in one place! We know that your investment in the travel and time to attend this year’s event will provide a significant pay back to yourself and to your organization.

Many in our industry are asking “How do we accomplish our goal of acquiring and fielding the best equipment possible in a ‘Sequester’ dominated Global Environment?” There is no doubt that the global environment has been under significant fiscal stress for the past few years and that this trend will continue. Government acquisition has been incredibly impacted by this phenomenon. How much more significant will the fiscal pressures become on system acquisition and how will that affect the need for test and evaluation? Are non-materiel solutions becoming more desirable and how does the T&E community support the development and implementation of these type solutions?

The global environment is, however, not homogeneous. While much of system acquisition is constrained, some areas such as Special Operations and Cyber are steady or growing, and they have unique T&E needs. This year’s Symposium was themed “Improving Acquisition Outcomes in a Resource - Constrained Global Environment” specifically to provide a forum for you to explore all of these areas, and the many challenges and opportunities that you face every day.

Starting with the pre-Symposium tutorials on Tuesday and through the Plenary Sessions and Technical Tracks on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, this year’s Symposium will provide you a platform for open dialogue and to work together on solutions that will enable you to face the challenge of doing more with less.

  • 12 content-rich Pre-Symposium Tutorials (Separate registration required).
  • 8 Thought-provoking Plenary Keynote, Featured, and Guest Speakers from DOT&E, DT&E, TRMC, U.S. Army T&E Command (ATEC), Missile Defense Agency,  NASA, and a very special Friday Keynote from U.S. Congressman Diane Black (R), who represents the 6th District of Tennessee and is Co-Chair of the Congressional Range & Testing Center Caucus.
  • 6 Special Panels on Cyber T&E Practitioners, Cyber Defenders, T&E Standards, International T&E, T&E Sustainability, and a 30th Annual Symposium Anniversary treat with a very entertaining Grey Beard Panel of T&E experts.
  • 9 Technical Tracks with 54 presentations that provides something for everyone in T&E.
  • Wednesday evening Grand Reception and 30th Anniversary Celebration.
  • The Annual T&E Professional Awards luncheon will be presented on Thursday.
  • The 3rd Annual Academia Day will be held on Thursday. This year, ITEA is partnering with Virginia FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) which sponsors the FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC) and FIRST Tech Challenge across the state.
  • Stick around on Friday afternoon and get certified! ITEA will be offering the Certified Test & Evaluation Professional (CTEP) examination session (separate registration required).

Invest in yourself and make your plans TODAY to join us as we celebrate a GREAT 30th INTERNATIONAL TEST AND EVALUATION SYMPOSIUM!
