This notice is to announce the 2018 election process for the 2019 ITEA Board of Directors and to advise the ITEA membership of the nominating process. The purpose of the Board of Directors is to undertake management of the business and affairs of the Association. The goal of the elections process is to ensure the Board represents a broad spectrum of the T&E community; a mirror of the functional diversity of the community to include members of the technical, management, policy, and analysis sectors. Go here for additional information on the duties and responsibilities of an ITEA Board member. There are two categories comprising the Board of Directors, elected members and appointed members.
- Elected Directors: The number of elected Directors of the Association is currently eleven. An elected Director will serve for a period of three (3) years. An elected Director may not serve for more than two (2) consecutive terms.
- Appointed Directors: For the purposes of diversification, the Board of Directors may appoint up to four additional Directors for terms of one (1) year; renewable no more than two (2) times.
For the 2018 elections, the committee will seek candidates to fill the following vacancies:
- Elected Directors: Four (4) Positions
- Appointed Directors: Not to exceed four (4) Positions
Elected directors will each serve 3-year terms from January 2019 through December 2021 and will be presented to the membership during the 2018 Annual Symposium, which will be held at the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel & Resort in Oxnard, CA, December 11-14, 2018. Any Director appointed by the Board will serve for one year (2019).
The Elections Committee, a standing committee of the Board chaired by Mr. Matt Reynolds, oversees the nomination and election of Directors. Nominations are openly solicited from ITEA Chapters, the Board of Directors, the Senior Advisory Board, Corporate members and Individual ITEA members. The Elections Committee will follow the ITEA Bylaws and established policies of the Association in evaluating nominations for the Board of Directors and developing the slate for balloting. The Elections Committee will screen candidates for nomination based on the approved ITEA Board of Directors Policy for the Nomination and Elections Process. This policy is available for review here.
Nominations for elected or appointed positions are to be submitted via nomination forms that can be found on the ITEA Web site (www.itea.org).
