Abstract:
The lunch and learn webinar will present the implementation and benefits of a predetection 4-channel diversity combiner. Performance benefits in multipath mitigation, obstruction outage and combining gain are reviewed and compared to IRIG best source selectors and classic 2-channel combiners. The implementation of a multi-channel combiner has become practical due to advances in FPGAs, high-speed digital interconnections and software defined modular instantiation capabilities. Extensions of these techniques to a next generation software defined range architecture are also considered.
